As substack is now beginning to censure people's work, there is a short basic rundown for dummies on how to run your OWN website.
I'll try to NOT make it technical.
You will need:
A domain is your unique address on the internet. It's the "slackpurr.com" that you type in the address bar of your browse, choose wisely.
All the hosting providers are capable of reserving a domain for you.
Here are two:
Websites and all data are stored on computers called servers -> there are generally sitting in places with very fast internet connection, so you are RENTING some space on somebody's else computer. You COULD host a server on your own computer, which would make your data VERY secure, but it is very technical.
Normally, this service costs some €60-120 a year.
I suppose you are not in the business of programming a website from scratch (like myself), else you would not be reading this, so you'll use one of the ready-made solutions.
If your hosting supports a MySQL database, you could go with wordpress.org (often, there are one-click installs available), OR, you could use one of the simple flat file solutions like bludit. (imho, just go with bludit, it's simple and great)
If you need help, just gimme a shout.
